Micah 7:7 says "But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me." I am human and I will make mistakes. I am so thankful that Romans 8:28 says the God can work all things together for the good of those who love Jesus and are called according to His purpose. I tend to be be pretty hard on myself when I make mistakes. I pray that I not dwell on past mistakes and feel like a failure. I try to remember that mistakes give me a chance to trust God to bring something good out of them.
Rook's basketball season came to an end today. His team won all of their games except for one, and they lost that one by one basket. Rook was so upset because the guy that made the winning basket on the other team was the person he was supposed to be guarding. He felt he made a mistake. It was beautiful for me to see how his team mates encouraged him and displayed unconditional love. They reminded him of the mistakes that they had made during the game too. I hope he saw the beauty in friendships and God showed him that he loves him all the time and is ready to help him endure the consequences of our mistakes. He can even make some of those consequences beautiful. I like when my friends remind me that they too make mistakes and how they got through the game of life with God's help. Lord, thank you that you forgive and forget when I bring my mistakes to you.
