My Sister
God knew that I would need another mother hen in my life...my sister.  Nothing keeps me more humble.  She has kept me in line from day one, singing me lullabies, dressing me up, allowing me on her cheer squad etc.  She goes around town collecting clothes for me and Molly.  She is an incredible mother, (her kids eat vegetables and display manners without prodding!) wife, gifted decorator, cook, has a growing relationship with Christ, loyal friend having many from childhood, keeps in touch with extended family, yes awesome!  I will always be her number one cheerleader.  She is the only one that I trust to take with me swim suit shopping...Her faces tell all.  Last time we went she introduced me to "The Miracle Suit."  The only fault I can think of is that she is known to throw down Banangram at any moment and will mess with my game pieces if I'm winning.  Boo, Hiss...She has an unhealthy obession with that game I tell ya.
My prayer today for me and her is that we would have steadfast devotion as Ruth, be responsive and sensitive to the needs of others like Esther.  I pray that we would always find time to sit in learn at Jesus's feet like Mary of Bethany.  I pray that we be grateful like the women who washed Jesus's feet with their hair and tears, and be as generous as the widow who gave all that she had.  I pray that she know how deeply Jesus loves her and I do too.  Song from 'The Color Purple'..."Sister you've been on my mind. sister, we're two of a kind, so, sister I'm keeping my eye on you.."

Three of my Loves

How do I Love The, Let me count the ways...
I've now known Kris for over 20 years.  I am so thankful that the Lord led me to him on November 21st, 1990 at a Sherman-Denison basketball game while I was adorning the fabulous Bee suit.  I came home as a Senior in High School and announced to my mom that I had met the man I am going to marry.  After smelling me, she said that if he calls me back after looking and smelling like I did, it must be love.  Psalm 27:14 states" Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."  After waiting for 6 years God answered my prayer to marry this righteous man.  I am so thankful.  He makes me laugh, is a great dada, and an incredible leader.  I am amazed to see God work through him everyday.  I've seen him keep God's ways, live a blameless life, admit when he has failed, and pursue righteousness with a hunger and thirst that is beyond words.  He reminds me that he had a full head of hair that could stand at attention (a.k.a The Wall) before he met me. I tell him that it is not a bald spot, it is a solar panel for my love machine.  Oops...Thank you Jesus for Kris who loves me unconditionally every day.

The Stars at Night...

Our Seats at American Airline Center
Rook won a $25.00 Chili
gift card from the floating pepper

Just when you think all is wrong with the world, someone goes and does something nice.  Today a mystery church member blessed us with 4 tickets to see the Stars game.  We were fresh out of green face paint for Rook and Molly couldn't find her sparkily gold pom poms, but we had fun none the less.  Any place that serves 8 different flavors of Slurpees makes me an automatic fan! Psalm 29:2 says "Give unto the Lord the glory due His name;worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness."  I am thankful that the Lord fills my life with glorius riches such as love, joy, and peace to be shared like our friends shared with us.  I see that when I share His riches they tend to multiply.  So I pray that I wont do as the world tells me to do and hold tight to earthly things such as money, etc.  I pray that I will worship Him daily. Praise Him for the beauty of a new day.  I hope that I will open my heart to Him and allow Him to flood my soul with riches. Go! Stars!
Molly literally climbing the walls!
In other news...Bubbe (my mom) will be glad to know that Molly attended her first gymnastics class in efforts to rid my walls of little foot prints.

Here ye! Here Ye! Read All About It!

Isaiah 50:4 says, "Every morning He wakes me. He teaches me to listen like a student."  Today I was reminded how much influence teachers have on their student's lives when I went to hear Rook recite his written work that he has been practicing for the upcoming 4th grade writing test.  His teacher, Mrs. Hudgins, has done an excellent job in teaching her class the writing process.  I am so thankful for the influence Smith Elementary has had on Rook in building his character as well as his academic person. Rook calls himself Eeyore.  I would agree that he tends to hold a melancholy viewpoint to his glass half empty world.  An example from his writing today was "I felt like I was submerged in the sea of despair." Mind you, the most despairing situation he has had so far in his life is getting his hair trimmed every six weeks.  He did a terrific job today.  It made me giggle with joy. I pray that I will be still enough to hear my Savior speak truth to me.  I pray that I would listen and receive His words that speak life, joy, peace, and hope. I pray that before I or anyone in my family begin any activity that we would seek God first and allow him to remind me of lessons past in efforts not to have to relearn.

The First Blog

To blog or not to blog...Ready, Set, Blog!,  Let's get this bloggin party started...Yes, there is a lot of pressure in what to post in this very first blog, but, at the request of family (Kristen),  friends in Alabama, and various nether regions, I begin...Isaiah 33:6 says, "The Lord will be your safety.  He is full of salvation, wisdom and knowledge. Respect for the the Lord is the greatest treasure."  I am thankful today to know that before I got out of bed today God has prepared my path and the treasures to discover all along the way.  Some are sweet like the smell of rain today, the Bubble Lady that is at the preschool today, answered prayers, and catch up phone calls with friends.  I also know that there are troubles that God will allow to shake me free of old habits, and allow me and my family to remember that God is always with us and see life in a new way.  So I pray, as laundry calls, that I will see signs of Jesus all around me today...
